
Balmore Began his career at an early age in 1969 at the Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts in Medellin, Colombia. At a young age, he performed in front of large audiences and appeared in local newspapers for his innate singing talent. Since his arrival in Canada in 1974, he has brought on a vibrant sense of culture to the Latin Community as well as all other cultures alike, by incorporating songs in Spanish, English, Italian, French and more. He is best known for his Latin music performances, which bring awe to his audience with his powerful and impressive vocal range.
Balmore has been the primary performer for various bands including Nueva Sensacion, Sensacion Latina, Latin Music Group, Canada Band, Los Estudiantes, Formula Latina, Bakano, Tambora, and others. Balmore and his band have travelled to many cities for large scale performances to include Montreal, Laval, Terrebonne, Sherbrooke, Saint-Hyacinthe, Granby, Quebec city, Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton and even Prince George, British Columbia. These shows have hit renowned performance locations such as Diet Pepsi amphitheatre, Montreal Spectrum, Palais de congrès de Montréal, Ottawa Convention Center, Pierre Charbonneau Center, and Toronto Hall. Balmore Orquesta continues to perform astonishing shows bringing dance to a variety of events including the annual ball for consulates of Latin America, Festival Mondiale de la bière, Cultural festival of Quebec, Latino American festival, Colombia independance celebrations, as well as many more. In 2003, Nueva Sensacion performed along side internationally known Grupo Niche. Balmore and his orquestra can also be found performing at private events at performance centers, hotels, dance clubs, restaurants and halls.
His long-time recognition among the Latin community surpasses that of any other band in Montreal today. Balmore has been awarded various certificates of merit and awards for his astounding shows. Additionally, Balmore and his band have appeared on many local newspapers such as La Revue and El Popular. In 1994, his performance with Nueva Sensacion was so successful that David Jodoin, the participant-signing manager, as well as André Ménard, the general director of the Jazz festival, invited Balmore to perform for the closing ceremony of the Jazz Festival. This prestigious invitation was only awarded to two groups among the 300 groups that performed at the festival.
Largely respected and an influence in the Latin Music Community, Balmore is the director and primary singer of the oldest established Latin band in Montreal that is still performing today.
